Designed for harness racing horses that lug, pull, toss their head, or struggle with tongue control — the WTP Tongue Control Lugging Bit is the bit that trainers, riders and drivers reach for when everything else has been tried.
The straight bar design sits further back in the mouth than conventional options, requiring only a small hanging bar to keep it in place. This prevents the tongue from coming over the bit without the pinching, discomfort or restriction that other solutions create. The result is even pressure distribution across the tongue, reduced side movement, and meaningful lugging control — without fighting the horse to achieve it.
A kind rubber cover protects the teeth and softens the overall feel in the mouth, making this one of the more horse-friendly options available for horses that have historically been difficult to bit correctly.
Proven effective for horses with a history of tongue over bit, head tossing, pulling, lugging and soft palate displacement — including cases where other approaches have failed.
Suits: Harness racing horses, pacers and trotters requiring tongue control and directional stability. Also suitable for horses transitioning away from tongue ties.
